Everybody In. Nobody Out.

Invitation: Be Informed and Sign Up.

Internal:

A clarification for accuracy:
“PPACA” is not the U.S. health care law.

“Affordable Care Act of 2010”
or “Affordable Care Act”
is the current U.S. health care law.

Internal to the Medicare for All Teams and other single-payer activists.
This web page is set up to not be found by search engines, such as Google.

Problem: inconsistent and inaccurate references can lead to miscommunications and misunderstandings, which can hurt our efforts instead of helping our efforts.
See below …
Accurate title of the current U.S. health care law
The “The Affordable Care Act of 2010” is the “umbrella term” that has been given to the passage of two acts of legislation that were signed into law by President Barack Obama in March 2010:
1. PPACA: The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act
2. HCERA:
These two acts of legislation were combined into one document.

The law is NOT pee-pah-kah.
The law is NOT pee-pack-kah.
The law is the “Affordable Care Act of 2010”.

(Not even Wikipedia documents the law’s name clearly. See the P.S. for the
details about the law.)

**SPECIAL NOTE**
THE NAME OF THE LAW IS ACCURATELY AND CLEARLY COMMUNICATED AT THE START OF
THE PBS FORUM. IT IS ON A SLIDE FOR ABOUT TEN SECOND (2:20 to 2:30 minutes
into the video).

… The law at issue is the AFFORDABLE CARE ACT. Look at the slide. Hear the
audio.

If there is anything the single-payer direly needs it is more paying
attention to detail for clear and accurate communications.

Pardon this outburst.
Get some benefit out of it.
Pay attention to detail.

Keep smiling … and rip me apart if and when I ever mess something up. I
love people to pay attention to detail … a critical success factor for
accomplishing the best health-care-for-all system in the world.

FYI … many successful global manufacturing organizations spent hundreds of
thousands of dollars training their tens of thousands of employees in the
1980’s about critical success factors that the single-payer movement should
be following. (If you got this far and want to care about what I’m talking
about in order to help have a successful movement, contact me one-on-one
with mind and both ears open.)

- Bob

P.S.

The umbrella name for the law
   Affordable Care Act of 2010
The laws included within that title:
   PPACA
   HCERA
