Why Now

The time is now to build the coalition.

And until the day we all have our health care cards in our hands
we need to keep on doing the Phase 1 activities,
informing Americans at Know, 1-on-1 and in small groups
and inviting them at Sign Up to become Health Care Patriots.

Behold the turtle: he only makes progress when he sticks his neck out.

Translation for us:

We know the mission is a big challenge.
However, the timing is currently excellent, and
we are moving forward and getting the job done
.

Behold the turtle! He only makes progress when he sticks his neck out. We are moving forward with the campaign start-up as of 12/12/12.

The list below is not in any particular order of priority:

We have this list of items that motivate us ...

  1. Supportive President. We have a supportive U.S. President, Barack Obama, in place 2013 through 2016.
He gave us a very specific recommendation.

He has NOT yet been supporting what we need for health care, so now we must motivate him to support us by following Barack Obams's recommendation for getting single-payer health care.
  2. Presidential Recommendation. Before Barack Obama became president he replied to a citizen about health care during a town hall meeting in Portsmouth New Hampshire in April of 2007. The citizen made a strong statement in support of single-payer health care. He replied that the U.S. Congress would respond to what would be the equivalent of a million letters in the U.S. Mail. He's probably still waiting for us to act on his recommendation. It's time for the Million Letters for Health Care campaign. Specifically, he said a thousand to two thousand letters: 2,000 x 435 members of the U.S. House equals roughly a million letters.
  3. Confirmed Support of Americans. Since the time of many polls in 2007 about what Americans want for health care, there has been a strong confirmation of the degree of Americans' support (which is over half, summarizing many polls), such as solidly documented in Massachusetts (67%).
We also have a maximum degree of confusion. If this many Americans want it, then why don't we have it? We can continue to proclaim it is the fault of the powerful opposition, or we can establish a power of the people that is greater than the immense power of the opposition.
  4. Coalition, Mission, Vision, Strategy, Plan and Goal.
We have all of these, linked at the campaign page.
    ... educate and consolidate
    ... communicate
    ... legislate
    ... implement and celebrate

    Educate
Contact Americans to inform them of information about what they support to help them be solid in their degree of support,
    — Help them review the Know page while you are both at a computer screen.
Help them get answers to their questions and concerns.
           (critical action #1),

    Consolidate
    — Help them become a Health Care Patriot at the sign-up page if they want to document their support in Phase 1 and be ready to accomplish getting the needed support in the U.S. Congress in Phase 2.
           (critical action #2).
How to efficiently accomplish both critical actions. We need to value the time of ours and the time of the persons we contact. Informing Americans at a display of the Know page is best. Then the Answers and the Sign-Up page are also readily available.

more that Americans will do critical action #2 after #1. As emphasized at the plan web page, the way to get health care in the most solid way is to prepare Americans for the incredibly positive change of having universal health care AND also helping them sign up to contribute to the size of the Health Care Patriots coalition and the strength of our communications actions in Phase 2.
  5. Support Monitor. The Single-Payer Support Monitor. We have the ability to document the support status of members of the U.S. Congress, including supportive details, of our 100 U.S. Senators and 435 U.S. Representatives.
  6. Need for getting Congress focused. We are at a critical time in our nation's history related to health care. The nation, starting with the U.S. Congress, is focusing on the implementation of the Affordable Care Act, known as Obamacare. This is the wrong direction to an incredible degree. The last major provisions of the law will be implemented in 2018. During 2013 and 2014 the focus on Obamacare's implementation will be especially strong. It is time for tens of millions of Americans to know the truth
         — Obamacare is not universal health care, is not designed to reduce costs and will leave tens of millions uninsured and many more under-insured.
         — We want and need universal health care, which will reduce costs and cover everyone.
         — We need to inform each other and take action.
The U.S. Congress is in the process of failing us to an incredible degree. In early 2013 the weak degree of support for single-payer will be weaker after lost elections, retirements and the focus on Obamacare.
  7. Need to for a dramatic change of attitude. We must focus on getting health care NOW, as a short-term accomplishment instead of expecting this effort to be long-term.
  8. Need for the power of the people to be greater than the power of the opposition. Tens of millions of Americans are ready for the foundation to be given to them about this subject so that they will contribute to the evil degree of control the opposition has had on us for years, as documented at the Media, Control, and Fear web pages.
  9. Unity via a coalition of Health Care Patriots to demonstrate to single-payer endorsers that we are shifting from talking to walking. It's time for unity and action. Decades of a strategy of fragmentation have not worked. The idea was interesting, but it did not get us health care. We now have a choice. Either continue and increase the degree protesting or shift to informing Americans about this incredibly positive change to help them be prepared for ths change.
  10. Last, but certainly not least is the implementation of the "benefits". Have some of us been so focused on the hate and the rallies that we have lost sight of the benefits? Peace of mind. Freedoms. Job opportunities. No major medical bills.
