Why Medicare

Why would we expand the use of Medicare to everyone if it is going broke?

Going broke?. Medicare is not going broke according to Republican Senator Jeff Sessions of Alabama. On December 12, 2009, on the floor of the Senate he made a reference to Medicare running a surplus. (The U.S. must stop robbing the trust funds for Americans’ social security and Medicare. Medicare for All means setting up one public agency that has its budget separate from the meddling of the U.S. Congress.)

Medicare for All is an improved Medicare that is no longer privatized. It is efficient, like it was before 2003 when the politicians privatized it.

By returning Medicare to its non-profit status we can start a recovery from the damage started in 2003 by the U.S. Congress’ Medicare Modernization Act. (That act started the process of privatizing Medicare that has caused so much inefficiency.)

Results of Implementing Medicare for All. By saving over $400 billion per year we will get more for less and cover everyone.
