- Note about additions: if a person needs to be added about them being a supporter or if an improvement in the information is available, you or they can submit the location of where the documentation of their support can be seen on the internet.
- How to determine from a candidate’s press releases and speeches whether or not they support single-payer:
- They will specifically say “single-payer” or “I fully support U.S. House Resolution 676”
- They won’t say “universal health care” without also saying single-payer national health insurance.
- They won’t say “steps to universal coverage.”
- They might say “single-payer or other non-profit health care financing like Germany or France.”
- They will be strongly supportive of House Resolutions 676, as the starting point for proposed legislation, from which the single-payer law will be established.
- They shouldn’t need to be asked about single-payer. Whenever the subject of health care is discussed,
they will speak of their support, reminding you that they support single-payer.
