Single-Payer Support Monitor
TEMPORARY NOTE: We have not yet made the many necessary updates that must be made
for the re-districting (that occurs every 10 years) and the election results.
For now please refer to the Summary of Progress to see that the Support Monitor pages
will be showing a DECREASE in support from the U.S. Congress.
We will proceed with the final projects of the campaign in order to give all of us the ability
to help change the status to a dramatic increased in support after our massive communications event.
U.S. Senators: 5% Support
5 of 100
U.S. Senators: you can submit your support for the mission of establishing national single-payer health care, Improved Medicare for All. Beyond educating constituents and promoting the mission, an example of solid support is for you to be a cosponsor of a Senate bill that is a U.S. Senate equivalent of H.R. 676. Special Note: Our expectations for a member of the U.S. Congress to maintain their status of being a single-payer supporter will increase as the number of participants in the Million Letters for Health Care Campaign grows higher in later phases of the campaign. That is, we will expect clear demonstration of support, education and active promotion of single-payer health care, Improved Medicare for All.

Debbie Stabenow, Michigan
Tom Udall, New Mexico
Sherrod Brown, Ohio
Jeff Merkley, Oregon
Temporary note: 2013 additions: Tammy Baldwin, Mazie Hirono,
but not Elizabeth Warren, who demonstrates somewhere between extremely little and no support.
Is there another supporter who is especially out-spoken?
To Senator Bernie Sanders, Vermont:
Will you also support one plan and one payer for Improved Medicare for All? You are one of the most outspoken members of the U.S. Congress about what you call "Medicare for All" and "single-payer". We know that you propose having 50-56 plans. Less than ten U.S. Senators supports (cosponsors) your bill as of 11/11/2012. When there is a bill equivalent to H.R. 676 on the floor of the U.S. Senate, will you support it and please document that support now on your U.S. Senate website?
Sincerely, Bob Haiducek
On 3/8/2011 I communicated via a telephone call and an e-mail
to Senator Sanders' office requesting his position.

CLARIFICATION:
As very clearly stated in the supporting documentation, such as for Senators Merkley and Stabenow, when you select each of their state names, the degree of support from some of the "supporters" in the U.S. Senate depends on what they are waiting for: the "political will" for single-payer health care, Improved Medicare for All. That "political will" can and will be established with the help of the single-payer movement, including the Million Letters for Health Care Campaign.
