Privately-sponsored toll-free numbers to the U.S. Congress
877-851-6437 866-338-1015
... and ... 888-797-8717; We had a time when we notice that this 888-797 number resulted in a busy signal, but then it resumed working.
Tip: If you want to ensure that your number is not seen by the sponsor of the toll-free number, dial *67 immediately before dialing the number. We do NOT have any indication that such tracking happens, but those who might be concerned can use *67.
Any of the above phone numbers could be shut down at any time, since the U.S. Congress has no control over their use or availability. And, on occasion, such as in late September and early October of 2009, the phones are sometimes used to make suggestions for what to say to the members of Congress or to give messages for other purposes.
