NOTES about this web page.

DEFINITION: Medicare for All Supporters: who they are in the U.S. Congress. A Medicare for All Supporter, as defined withiin this Medicare for All Campaign,
1) communicates their strong support for the establishment of Medicare for All "clearly, strongly, often and widely". Communication of support by a member of Congress includes documenting their support at their U.S. Congress website and candidate website. Opposition candidates must do that at their candidate website.
2) either sponsors or cosponsors a bill that would establish Medicare for All legislation, such as HR676

Temporary note during 2017 about the FRAGILE support levels. We have not yet applied the above definition of a Medicare for Al Supporter. If U.S. Representative cosponsors do not document their support at their U.S. Congress websites, then the % support in the U.S. House will change to as low as one percent. And if there is no establishment of a U.S. Senate bill that either duplicates the content of U.S. House Resolution H.R. 676 or essentially duplicates it by being extremely close to the same content, then the U.S. Senate will change to zero percent.

What to do about the fregile support levels. The ONLY way to most solidly and assuredly get real support from the members of the U.S. Congress is through the Medicare for All Campaign..(Temporary note: the details of what that means will be clear after the 2017 start-up.)

*** SUPPORTERS ARE SPONSORS AND COSPONSORS OF MEDICARE FOR ALL LEGISLATION.

U.S. House
Medicare for All Supporters.
Supporters are:
1) officially documented as a supporter of Medicare for All proposed legislation in the U.S. House, as a sponsor or a cosponsor within the Library of Congress of the U.S. Congress. Voting members in the U.S. House are counted, which does not include delegates from D.C. or the territories.
2) communicate their strong support as noted in the above definition of a supporter.

U.S. Senate  Medicare for All Supporters —

Supporters are:
1) officially documented as a supporter of Medicare for All proposed legislation in the U.S. Senate, as a sponsor or a cosponsor within the Library of Congress of the U.S. Congress. (NOTE: As of mid-2017 there was no U.S. Senate Medicare for All bill. )
2) communicate their strong support as noted in the above definition of a supporter. A name followed by "supporter?" means that the member is recognized as a possible supporter based on their past positions related to health care.

** SUPPORT LEVEL THAT IS NEEDED:  To help ensure that excellent universal health care is established via a Medicare for All Program we need at least 75% support in the U.S. House and 75% support in the U.S. Senate.

How to Determine Your U.S. Congressional District Number and the Name of Your U.S. Representative

  • Monitor Popular Support for Improved Medicare for All
    • See that over half of Americans’ support improved Medicare for All 1

We, the People, Want Support!

  1. Alternate names that have been or could be included in polls/surveys of citizens:
        single-payer health care
        single-payer national health insurance
        Medicare for All
Expanded and Improved Medicare for All back

  2. Clarification: The measurements of popular support among Americans very strongly indicate a desire for Improved Medicare for All when it is explained to them or it is asked of them in a clear manner. However, prior to 2012, most Americans had never heard of Improved Medicare for All … and/or … they had received enough propaganda against “single-payer” such that they were afraid of it. We must keep these in mind:
    1) 70-80% in Opposition — That’s what has happened in the past. — the ability of media campaigns to influence public opinion to 70-80% against Improved Medicare for All and
    2) 70-80% in Support — That’s what can happen in the future. — the ability of individual Americans and groups of Americans to inform each other and more firmly establish 70-80% not only supporting improved Medicare for All, but also not changing their opinion when the media campaigns occur. back
