Public Spending Per Person
Position at the bar chart.
The United States has more in PUBLIC spending of our tax dollars PER PERSON … with a health-care-NOT-for-all system … than other free-market countries have for their TOTAL spending PER PERSON. The key difference is that EVERYBODY gets health care in the other free-market countries AND their health outcomes, such as life expectancy and preventable deaths (the ability to minimize deaths under age 75) are much better.
In other words, the United States could pay less, get more and cover everyone, based on other countries’ experience.

The United States spends more than enough in public spending to pay for a health-care-for-all system, but it does not have a health-care-for-all system, having tens of millions of its citizens uninsured.
