The MMR data was obtained from the reporting of the University of Washington’s Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IMHE) - data for 2008.
Maternal mortality may be a much better indicator of health care performance than infant mortality, especially considering the debate about how infant mortality rates are determined across different countries.
