Low-Cost Printing
for black-and-white and color printing
If you have an individual or a group that can support the following idea, it can save a lot of money.
- Buy a laser-jet printer that prints only black-and-white. The toner cartridges are expensive, but the price per page is inexpensive.
- Use that printer not only for black-and-white, but also for color printing, as follows:
- Determine what local printing company will print high-quality adhesive-backed pages.
- Cut out the colored addition to your black-and-white pages and add the color that way.
Experiences with this
Federal Express office (formerly Kinko’s). I was visiting in other state and learned that the Federal Express office would print a colored document onto one of their high-quality adhesive-backed pages for the same price ($0.59 per sheet) as printing onto a white sheet of paper. At 16 labels per page, this procedure brought the price down to having the addition of color to less than $0.04 per page. — Bob (I need to provide the link to the page of labels; if you want them before I provide the link at this web page, then contact me.)
