If Just One American Hurts …
If just one American hurts unnecessarily …
and if I know there is a solution ...
that can stop the pain, ...
Then I would want to take action
… to get the solution
... and stop the hurt.
Correct?
If the above text is used for part of a presentation,
(which you can please use whenever you like), then
consider pausing at each set of three periods.
Take Action
... be informed about the solution,
… and sign up to help get it,
… and inform others,
… and help them sign up at the same place as millions of other Americans
... so that we can be united …
… by doing one simple set of small actions
… that together give us the power we need
If just one American …
If just one member of a local social group to which I belong,
… bowling team or Knitting group or garden club or service club … …
If just one of my co-workers or neighbors or friends, …
If just one member of my immediate family or other relatives, …… or … if just ONE child in America, …
… suffers unnecessarily …
… experiences a negative impact due to unnecessary taxation from too many government programs …
… or experiences a negative financial impact of unnecessary administrative costs related to health care, …
… or experiences unnecessary pain and suffering of any kind related to U.S. health care and how we pay for it …… then …
… whether I am white or African American or Latino or other …
… whether I am a political party member or not …
… whether I am a member of a religious group or not …
… whether I consider myself to have a specific ideological position or not …
… whether I am rich or poor …… I would want to become informed and take action as long as I know that
… there is an excellent solution that will benefit Americans and America
… and that my action will have an impact.… Correct? …
Yes, I would … that is, you would,
because most people are good people who care.… Well …
… consider the crisis in America related to health care that might as well be called the national emergency that has been given extremely little national attention … … and … consider the uniquely American solution that has also been largely ignored
First, let’s review the crisis related to health care …
… there are tens of millions of Americans … who experience unnecessary
hardships,
physical, emotional and financial pain and suffering
up to and including death … EVERY DAY of EVERY YEAR,
…
and … there is a solution called Improved Medicare for All, which is a health-care-for-all solution
… and … there are thousands of Americans who have personally experienced some version of a “health care for all” system by living and working in other countries. They’ve lived with how it is in every other free market country and have documented their experiences about how it is to have “health care for all”.
… and it has been denied Americans at least eight times by the U.S. Congress during the last seventy years.
… Fortunately …
There are a few very simple actions we can take to inform ourselves and others. There are resources available to help us. The resources are in a package of materials that is titled “What Every American Should Know.” Those resources have a common message for us to use: that we will … “Get more. Pay less. And cover everyone.”
The resources not only allow us to inform ourselves and inform others … but also support us in doing simple actions to help get Improved Medicare for All. After we help another American be informed … if they are interested and supportive of Improved Medicare for All, we can help them sign up to stand up for single-payer health care, which is the system that will eliminate the unnecessary taxation of too many government programs and eliminate the unnecessary administrative costs that cause so many Americans unnecessary pain and suffering.
The results of our efforts are guaranteed to have a positive impact … as long as we continue to grow in two areas:
… the numbers of Americans who are informed
… and the number of Americans who sign up.It is time for us to inform ourselves and inform others.
We can best do that one person at a time … or a couple of people at a time … with whoever is willing to spend the time to listen and learn.
Observations
Media campaigns against Improved Medicare for All often focus on the horror stories of one or a limited number of persons from another country, such as Canada.
One can find individual horror stories in any country. Also, in any country people can be found who complain about their health care system.
The important information is not individual stories but what is happening to millions of people. As noted in the essay, millions of people are hurting unnecessarily in the United States.
Tens of millions of Americans are in pain.
It is time to end the hurt.
