Single-Payer Support Monitor
TEMPORARY NOTE: We have not yet made the many necessary updates that must be made
for the re-districting (that occurs every 10 years) and the election results.
For now please refer to the Summary of Progress to see that the Support Monitor pages
will be showing a DECREASE in support from the U.S. Congress.
We will proceed with the final projects of the campaign in order to give all of us the ability
to help change the status to a dramatic increased in support after our massive communications event.
Democratic Party
The Democratic Party does not support
national single-payer health care,
Improved Medicare for All
- The Democratic Party does not support single-payer based on its 2012 platform (pdf):
- The Democratic Party is focused on keeping the Affordable Care Act in place and continuing its implementation.
- The Democratic Party did not support single-payer previously, based on its 2008 and 2004 platforms.
- On the other hand, the Democratic Party is most likely to respond first when Americans are knowledgeable about Improved Medicare for All and are communicating in massive numbers to the members of the U.S. Congress about it.
See Politics and Health Care regarding the short-term and long-term support situations.
