Single-Payer Health Care Cost Comparison

Compare your expected costs to
your costs with single-payer health care.

Current Status

A health care cost calculator is available
at the Health Care for All Texas (HCFAT) website.
Temporary Note: Some final de-bugging and final enhancements
are going to occur for this calculator. When you sign up to be a
participant you will receive the announcement about the calculator's
completion by paying attention to the monthly reports that we provide
The calculator allows you to enter your own projected health care costs
and compare that with the costs estimated to be in effect with H.R. 676:
national single-payer health care, Improved Medicare for All.
Important Note: The calculated results are a rough estimate and will most likely be different than the final single-payer health care legislation. The H.R. 676 proposed legislation does not provide any specific numbers for the calculation; the expected numbers were obtained from the office of U.S. Representative John Conyers, the sponsor of H.R. 676. The numbers in the final legislation that becomes law will obviously not be available until that is established.
If you want to get a personal rough estimate now, use the calculator.

How to Know When a Better Calculation
is Possible and Available

If you want a closer estimate when it’s available, after the debating in Congress adds more specifics to H.R. 676, then sign-up and pay attention to the monthly reports that come with our monthly reminders.
We will communicate the following announcements:
— when we have updated the tax web page to reflect the actual legislation.
— when the Health Care Calculator at Health Care for All Texas is similarly updated.
